About Us

OUR STORY

We’re Making a Difference

Kai Rho was founded in 2013. Born from the red dust of Kalgoorlie, mining has always been in our blood.

Kai Rho Contracting is a Western Australian Aboriginal-owned civil and mining services company delivering high-quality road construction, earthworks, plant hire, waste management and site services across the Goldfields and beyond. Established in 2013 in mining services and expanding into civil construction from 2019, Kai Rho has partnered with government agencies, tier-one contractors and major resource companies to deliver safe, reliable and compliant project outcomes.

Our strength lies in combining strong operational capability with deep local knowledge, creating lasting infrastructure while building real economic opportunities for Aboriginal people and communities. Safety, integrity and long-term value underpin everything we do.

“Our aim is to partner the mining and civil works industries with our local Aboriginal communities, and create sustainable, long-term contracts that empower our people to thrive. These types of contracts are vessels for change—supporting our clients to meet their KPIs, and deliver on their OHSEQ and social engagement targets, while creating jobs and supporting our communities. It’s win-win-win.”

OUR VALUES

What We Stand For

Our Values

Quality

We stand by the quality of our work in everything we do. We’re committed to delivering the best job possible, and doing it the right way—every single time.

Our Values

Safety

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. We adhere to strict safety practices and maintain rigorous quality standards to ensure everyone on site goes home safe at the end of the day.

Our Values

Community

We believe in driving success from the ground up, so we use our skills and resources to create opportunities for Aboriginal people and supporting the communities in which we operate.

BUILDING OUR COMMUNITY

We’re a Proudly Aboriginal Owned and Operated Business

Kai Rho are traditional owners across the Goldfields and Murchison regions. From the Mirning traditional lands in the south to the Nangaanya-Ku, Nyulpa Pirniku, and Kultju lands in the northern Goldfields region, and to the Meenangu Wajarri Yamatji in the Murchison Region.

We recognise that the WA government and mining companies have procurement policies in place to increase contracting with Aboriginal businesses. But for us, it’s more than about ticking a box on a tender form.

Our mission is to leverage every opportunity to supply services in the mining and civil industries for the betterment of the community, so that Aboriginal people can be the drivers of our own destiny.

It’s about making a conscious difference, and choosing a company that has ties to our land. Choosing a company that supports the lives and wellbeing of its communities, and creates opportunities for growth and sustainable career pathways.

At Kai Rho, we’re using our capabilities and expertise to ensure that the positive impact of our work endures for future generations.
