WHO ARE WE?
Our mission is to supply a local Aboriginal workforce of operators and machinery for the mining and civil works industry.
Company owners Katrina Stubbs and Rowena Leslie have worked in the mining contracting and civil works industry for 15 years. As directors of Kai Rho Contracting, their aim, since founding the progressive company in December 2013, is simple; to provide a professional civil and mining service to government and industry that directly benefits the local Aboriginal community.
Kai Rho began in 2013 as a dry hire machinery company with one 15,000L Hino Water Cart. Since then it has grown to a fleet of machinery and operators engaged in fulfilling contracts to mining giant AngloGold Ashanti and civil works major player Downer owned DM Roads.
Thanks to Katrina and Rowena’s extensive network of contacts, cultivated over their years of work supplying contracting needs drawn from a local Aboriginal workforce, Kai Rho Contracting is able to fulfil a client’s requirements for goods, machinery and personnel.
“We aim to bring together the local mining and civil works industry with the Aboriginal communities through long term sustainable contracts. These sort of contracts are a vessel of economic empowerment and social impact investment while allowing the client to meet its shareholder financial, OHSE and social-engagement targets. It’s a win-win-win solution.”
